Does prayer really work?

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

— James 5:16

Do you realize that prayer makes a difference? In the early 19th century, Dr. Alexis Carrelís research paved the way for organ transplants to start happening. And listen to what this esteemed doctor said regarding prayer:

“The influence of prayer on the human mind and body is as demonstrable as that of secreting glands. Its results can be measured in terms of increased physical buoyancy, greater intellectual vigor, moral stamina, and a deeper understanding of the realities underlying human relationship.”

Prayer works. And not only that, but when you pray for others, it gives both the one who prays and the one who is prayed for encouragement and hope knowing that others care for them. Yet, in our materialistic and secular world today, to believe in the supernatural is looked down upon. It’s almost as if we’re too enlightened today to believe in a “fairy tale” like that.

But the bottom line is that prayer is a matter of faith. It is both through the faith of those who are prayed for and the faith of the ones who pray that God works to accomplish His plans and purposes. So pray for one another in faith and watch as God does something great!

PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER IN FAITH. GOD WILL WORK THROUGH IT TO ACCOMPLISH HIS PLANS AND PURPOSES!
