There was a huge obstacle standing between the children of Israel and the land that God had promised them. It was the city of Jericho, which was surrounded by a massive wall.
That obstacle seemed to say, “Keep out! You cannot have the blessings of God. They’re not for you!”
Now, you and I may not be obstructed by a literal wall in our lives, but we certainly face very real obstacles every day. And they can be every bit as intimidating as that seemingly impregnable wall of Jericho.
Issues like family problems and financial issues can stop you in your tracks. Problems associated with an unholy mind can bring your spiritual growth to a standstill.
Obstacles like these and others are spiritual strongholds that Satan uses to keep you from God’s best plan for your life. You may even hear him chiding you, “Keep out! You’ve gone as far as you can go with God!” But that’s a lie.
Listen, God can tear down those obstacles if you trust him. And you need him to tear down those walls because you cannot do it on your own. It’s impossible.
So today, if you have come to an obstacle that stands in your path, God is saying, “Listen to me. I will show you what to do.”
It’s time to stop trying to fix things and to start trusting him. Because that is the only way to really break through to victory in your life!
