Is your worship heavenly?

Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.”

–Revelation 19:6

I heard about a man who visited one of those old dead, dry churches where they never said “Amen!” or “Hallelujah!” As he sat down on about the second row, the minister began reading his sermon from a piece of paper. And right in the middle of that sermon, he said something that made that man yell out, “Amen!”

That was the first time anybody had ever heard anything like that in this church. It angered everyone. So an usher came all the way from the back, tapped that man on the shoulder, and said, “Sir, you’re disturbing our congregation. You’ve got to cut that out!” The visitor replied, “But I’ve got Jesus!”

And that usher said, “Well, you didn’t get Him here – be quiet!”

Now, there are many churches just like that today, but let me tell you one thing: heaven’s not going to be like that. Heaven is going to be a place full of hallelujahs and praise to God. It will be a place where worship pours out from every heart – where men and women sing out with everything in them to the King of kings.

Is your worship heavenly, or is it earthly? Are you worried about what others think around you? Or do you truly worship and sing to your audience of one? Don’t let what people think determine the passion behind your worship. Sing out and give praises to God with everything in you!

INSTEAD OF WORRYING ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK, WORSHIP GOD WITH ALL THAT IS IN YOU BECAUSE HE IS YOUR AUDIENCE OF ONE!
