Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
–Proverbs 3:5-6
I remember when I was young and single, I would constantly hear well-intentioned people say, “God has one person for you to marry. You just have to find that person.” This is a common sentiment. So young singles over the years, even to this day, have lived their single lives just waiting on that one person whom God has appointed for them.
Now indeed, there are special people God allows to come into our lives who will become our spouses. But to present God’s will as some kind of enigmatic code that needs to be cracked does a disservice to the kind of relationship we have with God through Jesus Christ.
God’s will isn’t so much wound up in our fate as it is in our fellowship with Him. That means when a big life decision comes up, our fellowship with God will lead us to discover His will. There’s no code to crack!
Don’t fret over finding God’s will. Instead press into Jesus Christ. When you put your relationship with Him first, God’s plan for you will become clearer and clearer. Put Jesus first and you’ll discover God’s very best for you!
PURSUE A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS AND GOD’S PLAN FOR YOU WILL BECOME CLEAR.
