Letting God’s accomplished work live through you

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

–Ephesians 2:10

One of the former presidents of Princeton University once said, referring to the time in his life when he personally trusted Christ as his Lord and Savior, “Since that glorious day, every day of my life has been a ‘P.S.’ to say ‘Thank you, Lord, for what you have accomplished in my life!’”

And in Christ, that’s what our good works are. God has finished writing the letter on His own. He’s signed it with the blood of Christ. The work is accomplished. And now, our role is to simply reiterate with our lives how important that work is.

Now, the word workmanship here in today’s passage is poiema. And the real meaning of that word is that we are God’s ‘masterpiece’… a workmanship that expresses the intent, purpose, design, and desire of the artist!

And what’s really amazing is that every good work that you accomplish in Christ has been prepared beforehand by God. So the real credit belongs to Him!

As a believer in Christ, you are God’s masterpiece. And as His masterpiece, you have eternal value as you live out the work God has prepared for your life. So when it comes to living the Christian life, remember that it’s God working through you, His workmanship, to do His perfect will.

LIVING THE CHRISTIAN LIFE MEANS LETTING GOD LIVE THROUGH YOU, HIS MASTERPIECE. SO LIVE OUT YOUR ‘P.S.’ TO GOD’S WORK BY SUBMITTING YOUR WHOLE LIFE TO HIS WILL!
