More and more often today, I hear people say things like, “It doesn’t matter what kind of God you believe in as long as you believe in a god.” And, “The god of the Muslims is the same as the God of the Methodist and the God of the Baptist is the same as the god of the Buddhists.”
Now, this kind of thinking, called universalism, basically says we’re all okay as long as we acknowledge some kind of higher power. And many believe that’s not even necessary as long as you’re a good person.
But the truth is that if Jesus Christ is right, then this whole line of thinking goes right out the window. Jesus couldn’t have been clearer when He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” If there was another way, then Jesus Himself would have been a liar!
If you’re in Christ, then you worship the one true God, Father of the Lord Jesus Christ. Any other worship of God apart from Jesus Christ is not acceptable because to deny God the Son is to deny God the Father. So don’t let today’s philosophies and pop-theologies influence you. Instead, cling to the rock, Jesus Christ, and worship God only through Him!
DON’T FALL INTO TODAY’S MINDSET THAT ALL RELIGIONS ARE THE SAME. TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST AND WORSHIP GOD THROUGH HIM ALONE!
