How to find strength to overcome any situation

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

–Ephesians 6:10

Years ago when my boys were growing up, we loved to wrestle. And every now and then, my wife, Deb, would say, “Jack, let up a little and let them win every now and then.” But I told her, “No way! If they’re going to beat me, they’re going to win fair and square.” So, staying true to my word, I fought my hardest against them… until that day came.

When our oldest son was 16, he had become very strong, bench pressing over 300 pounds. Well, sure enough, he got me in a hold one day and I couldn’t get up. He had me beat – and had won fair and square. So after that day, I quit wrestling him and focused on our youngest a little more!

But there was a reason I wouldn’t let them win: because life doesn’t let us win. Whether it be in your life at work or your relationship with God, victories take work. That’s why to experience spiritual victory, we have to be willing to put in the time and effort to gain strength and prepare ourselves to overcome the challenges we face.

Don’t look for the easy way out when life throws challenges your way. Instead, remember the One who strengthens you and prepares you to overcome any negative circumstance you face.

GOD HAS EQUIPPED YOU TO WIN OVER EVERY NEGATIVE CIRCUMSTANCE. TAP INTO HIS STRENGTH TODAY THROUGH PRAYER, HIS WORD, AND HIS SPIRIT.
