Where you can find true security in a world of false hope

“And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

–Matthew 7:26–27

Dallas, Texas, the city in which I live, has been called “the Buckle of the Bible-belt.” And it’s not surprising because there are somewhere between 2,000 and 3,000 churches in the area alone. Not only that, but the city is also home to some of the largest churches in the country.

Now with all that, you might think Dallas would be a pretty easy place to do ministry. Well, the reality is that the cultural Christianity that has infiltrated our city has been much more of a challenge than anything else. Many people believe that their churchgoing is what saves them. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

This is very likely a problem in every single church today. People so often believe that if they go to church, work hard, and have a nice family, then that will save them. But the truth is that salvation doesn’t come from any of that!

The most hazardous place to be in is a place of false security. That’s because while the danger is just as high as a place with no security, it’s easy to become deceived into thinking all is well when really, it’s not. So don’t let your church culture lead you down the road of false security of your salvation. Trust fully in Christ, and you’ll find true security of eternal life!

DON’T LEAN ON FALSE PROMISES OF ETERNAL LIFE. FIND YOUR TRUE SECURITY IN CHRIST ALONE!
