Using your life for God’s purposes

“…you shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you out of my hands?” Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

–Daniel 3:15-18

I love this story of three men who were so bold in their faith that they were willing to face death. You see, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego weren’t sure God was going to save them. But there were two things they did know: God was in control and they were to serve no other!

Now, if you know the rest of the story, you know God did save the three men. But what a display of faith we see here in the face of certain death!

Death is real. In fact, the last time I checked, the death rate for those who have been born is 100%! So the question you should be asking isn’t, “Am I going to die?” The question you should be asking is, “How am I going to live?”

God calls you to purposeful living. That’s living beyond yourself and offering your entire life up to him and his purpose. So pray and tell God that you are his completely. When you offer yourself to him each day, just watch what he will do in your life!

OFFER YOUR WHOLE SELF UP TO GOD AND LIVE FOR HIM ALONE!
