Belief in things unseen

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

–Hebrews 11:1

At this very moment, there’s an invisible world that surrounds you and me, just as there is a visible world. And in this unseen world there are demons and angels, powerful invisible armies, and more. One of my favorite Old Testament stories shows us what this invisible world is like.

Elisha, the prophet of God, and his servant were on their way to a place called Dothan. The servant saw a huge Canaanite army rising up against them, and went to Elisha in a panic saying, “What are we going to do?” Clearly, he feared for their lives!

So Elisha prayed for his servant saying, “Lord, open his eyes that he may see.” And God opened his spiritual eyes, and he saw God’s favor surrounding them in the form of a glorious army—men on horses sent to protect them with drawn swords!

Like Elisha’s servant, are you frightened about something today? Do you feel alone? The eternal, invisible world of God abounds around you. He has called the forces of heaven to protect and watch over you.

I pray you’ll embrace this truth in your life today!

THE ETERNAL, INVISIBLE WORLD OF GOD ABOUNDS AROUND YOU!
