The Bible in A Year Podcast has surpassed 100-Million Downloads.

When I was approached by my friends at pray.com and iHeart about collaborating on a podcast that would take listeners through the Bible daily, I was enthralled by the fresh, story-driven format. I was prayerful the podcast would help listeners get into the habit of engaging the Bible every day. I remember thinking what a blessing it would be if it reached a million people.

But God had much more in store.

I was reminded of one of our cornerstone verses as a church family: “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

The Bible in a Year with Jack Graham podcast launched in October 2022 and reached No. 1 on the Spotify religion list in the first week. It generated downloads at an accelerated rate, reaching 10 million downloads in record time – just six months.

The downloads steadily increased as the Bible came to life for so many, with background orchestra music providing a cinematic journey through the profound stories in the Bible. Running just under 15 minutes each, the 244 episodes are easy to understand and truly bring the Bible to life.

But reaching, much less surpassing 100-million downloads? That was unfathomable! Much more than I could ask or think. But God has had His hand on this project and to Him be the glory!

My prayer all along was that listeners would experience the Bible in a new way – that the podcast would inspire listeners to find joy in reading God’s Word, to grow in their faith and to witness the impact it has on everyday life.

I am grateful for the many new technological mediums we’ve been provided as Christians to share the Gospel, to reach those who would never otherwise pick up a Bible otherwise or step into a church. Just as our mission statement implores us “to glorify God by introducing Jesus Christ as Lord to as many people as possible and to develop them in Christian living using the most effective means to impact the world making an eternal difference in this generation and generations to come.”
