Are you complacent about sin?

Hear, O our God, for we are despised. Turn back their taunt on their own heads and give them up to be plundered in a land where they are captives.

–Nehemiah 4:4

When the devil comes against us with assaults and attacks, we need to pray as Nehemiah prayed. Nehemiah knew that God called him to the work of rebuilding the wall. He rested in his calling and prayed the prayer you see above.

Now you may say, “This isn’t a very Christian prayer.” Nehemiah prayed for the destruction of these obstructionists. But Nehemiah realized, as you and I must, that God’s work is serious business!

It’s easy to become complacent about our enemy. Psalm 97:10 says, “Oh, you that love the Lord, hate evil!” The church today needs a holy anger against sin and a boldness for the work of God and the glory of his name.

So when you and I are ridiculed, how should we respond? Should we fold our Bibles, fold our tents, and go home? Absolutely not!

You pray and keep doing what God has called you to do! Don’t let anyone stop you from believing God’s Word or from doing His work!

THE CHURCH TODAY NEEDS A HOLY ANGER AGAINST SIN AND A BOLDNESS
FOR THE WORK OF GOD AND THE GLORY OF HIS NAME.
