Are you like Jesus or the world?

“Sanctify them [God’s people] in the truth; your word is truth.”

–John 17:17

I want to challenge you today by asking a tough question. If a complete stranger observed your life for a few days without your knowledge, would your words and actions cause them to conclude that you are a Christ-follower?

You see, one of Jesus’ priorities for us, his Church, is to be sanctified. This word means to be separate from the world so that we might live for him. This means living in the world, but constantly becoming more like him.

Now, it’s not uncommon these days to find those who say they believe in God, and are even committed to him, sound and act more like those of the world. But Jesus calls us to be sanctified so that our lives will be a light and a testimony to a world that lives in darkness.

So how do we become sanctified? Well, contrary to what cultural relativists believe, the truth in God’s Word is absolute. And when you apply the truth of the Scripture to your life, it will “set you free,” just as Jesus promised.

Do you want to live for him? Then embrace the truth of God’s Word.

Let Jesus set you free to be more like him, prepared to serve, ready to witness, and equipped to fulfill the wonderful purpose he has for your life.

WHEN YOU APPLY THE TRUTH OF THE SCRIPTURE TO YOUR LIFE,
IT WILL “SET YOU FREE,” JUST AS JESUS PROMISED.
