What keeps you steady when everything around you is shaking?

It’s easy to trust God when you can see where He is leading.

It’s much harder when you can’t.

Every believer eventually walks through seasons when the path ahead becomes difficult to see. A prayer seems unanswered. A door unexpectedly closes. Something you counted on changes. And you find yourself asking, “Lord, what are You doing?”

Those moments reveal an important truth about faith: Our confidence cannot rest in what we can see. It must rest in who God is.

David understood this. He knew what it was to experience uncertainty, opposition, and fear. Yet he could still declare:

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1)

Notice where David placed his confidence. Not in his changing circumstances. Not in having every question answered.

His confidence was in the Lord.

That’s what it means to be anchored in your faith.

When life grows uncertain, you return to what you know is eternally certain: God is faithful. His Word is true. His promises have not changed. And His presence is still with you.

In fact, some of the greatest lessons of the Christian life are learned when the shadows fall. God teaches us in the light, but He tests us in the night. And it is there that Christian character is strengthened and our dependence upon Him grows deeper.

So when you cannot see what God is doing, keep trusting who He is.

Open His Word. Hold tightly to His promises. Keep walking with Him one step at a time.

Because your circumstances may change overnight. Your God never does.
