Choosing to be Fearless: Day 1, Protecting

My lovely wife and partner in life and ministry, Deb, has written this devotional in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  I hope it blesses you as much as it has me.

PROTECTING

When I awakened this morning, for a moment I had to shake my self and remember that the world was different.

My first impulse was to turn on the news and find out the “status” of this war we are in – but my soul ached and I knew that I needed to turn my thoughts and prayers to the Lord.

As women, we are in a hyper “PROTECT” mode. I am washing my hands constantly, cleaning with Lysol, staying my distance from people, and most likely grinding my teeth at night.

But once again, God had to remind me that I am to be Fearless because He is in control. I cannot protect everything and everyone and once again, I had to confess that I am fearful.

Protecting is a very fearless job. Yet God has promised that He never intended us to take on this tremendous task all by ourselves.

My prayer and Scripture for you today is:

I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. —Psalm 34:4
