Creating expectation for your eternal celebration

And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”

–Revelation 19:9

My wife, Deb, and I love having special occasions in our home. We love Thanksgiving and Christmas and having family and friends over to celebrate God’s blessings in our lives. And when people come over for a celebration, we bring out our nicest china, polish up our silver, cook a big dinner, and just go all out.

So if our family came over for Thanksgiving one year and we took out some paper plates, soda cans, and ordered takeout, they’d know something wasn’t right. That’s because we’ve worked hard to create an expectation of abundant celebration. And that expectation is so ingrained in our family’s minds that it just wouldn’t be right if we didn’t meet it.

God wants us to have that expectation as well. He wants us to leave this life and enter the next looking forward with anticipation to the eternal celebration that lies before us. He doesn’t want us to get ready to just float on clouds forever. He wants us ready to celebrate our union with Him forever!

So get ready. We can’t even fathom what’s on the other side of this life. But if we stay faithful, we’re promised to enter into the wonderful joy of our Master for eternity!

LIVE TODAY WITH EAGER EXPECTATION OF THE ETERNAL CELEBRATION THAT’S AHEAD OF THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST!
