One day in the presence of Mark Twain someone said, “This world is coming to an end.” And with a gleam in his eye, Twain said, “Don’t worry; we can get along quite well without it!”
As you and I look at our world today, we see that it is slowly sinking. And very often, like Twain, we wonder if we can just get along quite well without it. That’s exactly why God has promised that a new world is coming, a better world, His Kingdom.
But while we can and should look forward to the day when Christ will return in power and glory and inaugurate this physical kingdom, we dare not neglect the advancement of the spiritual Kingdom, which comes about when people place their faith in Jesus Christ today.
Yes, God has assigned us a very important task—the task of taking the Good News of Christ throughout the whole world—which will happen before the end comes.
So as you look forward to Christ’s return, do your part in proclaiming the Good News by sharing Christ with others where you are as well as praying, giving, and going to advance the Kingdom around the world!
