Good news for bad times

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who are elect exiles of the dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia….

–1 Peter 1:1

The early church knew what it was like to face challenges. In this first verse of 1 Peter, the apostle wrote to believers who were scattered abroad because of their faith. They were persecuted and in crisis.

The apostle Peter wrote to these believers an essential message of hope!

Now this hope was much more than wishful thinking. It was more than possessing a positive mental attitude. Peter wrote to the exiles to remind them that Jesus was coming again!

My friend, are you facing bad times? Are you persecuted or in a crisis of faith? Are you exiled from your family or friends for the sake of your faith? Has the economic downturn negatively impacted you?

If so, you need hope. In fact, you and I cannot live without hope. It is that important.

Ask the Lord Jesus Christ to fill you with the hope of his return right now! He is coming again! Let the hope of his return strengthen and renew you.

LOST HOPE? IF SO, REMEMBER THAT JESUS IS COMING AGAIN!
