How can you stand firm in these troubled times?

When I look at the world around us today, it’s easy to understand why so many people feel unsettled. Hostility toward the Christian faith is rising, uncertainty seems to shadow every corner of life, and the pressures we carry often feel heavier than we admit.

Yet into moments just like these, God speaks a word we desperately need—a word of living hope.

In the opening chapter of 1 Peter, we meet believers who were scattered, suffering, and struggling to make sense of their place in the world. And Peter, a man who knew what it was to fail, fear, and fall short, reminds them that their hope is not rooted in their circumstances but in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Because Jesus lives, our hope lives. It is vibrant, active, and unshakable.

I love how Scripture describes this hope as an anchor. An anchor doesn’t calm the storm, but it holds you steady through it.

In my own life, and in decades of ministry, I’ve seen again and again that when our lives are fastened to Christ—His Word, His promises, His faithfulness—we can stand firm no matter how strong the cultural winds may blow.

Friend, you are not adrift, and you are not alone. The same God who restored Peter, strengthened the early church, and carried countless believers through trials is the God who holds you today.

So when you feel discouraged and disheartened at the state of the world today, remember the secure, steadfast, living hope that is yours in Christ—and your heart will be anchored once again in the One who never lets go.
