How to bring others to eternal safety

The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day (John 12:48).

I remember several years ago at our church Christmas pageant when it came time for the three wise men to take the stage. Suddenly, we heard a strange sound in the auditorium: Beep, beep, beep, beep… the fire alarm was going off!  As it turned out, the incense that one of the Wise Men was carrying had triggered the fire alarm. Well, we had to stop the presentation to reset the alarm, put out the incense, and get everyone back in their places before we could resume. It was quite the ordeal!

But as I think back on that night, I remember how, when the alarm sounded, no one got up to leave! Everyone just looked around thinking, “What’s happened here? There must be something wrong with the alarm.” No one got up to see if there was a fire. We just assumed it was a malfunction.

That’s a lot like the world today. God has been sending all these signals: Beep, beep, beep… I’m coming again! Beep, beep, beep… turn to Me in faith! Yet, instead of acknowledging these signals, most people just sit there, look around to see what everyone else is doing, and live their lives under the assumption all is well.

Don’t ignore the signals. Behind the picture of sweet baby Jesus in a manger is a strong warning about what’s coming. Trust in Jesus today to be sure you’re safe from the judgment to come.

And if you are believer, don’t sit idly by while people enter a Christless eternity. Show them the way out! Now there’s nothing we can do to make people accept Jesus Christ. But we can echo God’s beeps to a world that is burning and will one day be judged.

HELP OTHERS FIND SAFETY FROM THE JUDGMENT TO COME BY SHOWING THEM THE WAY TO ETERNAL LIFE.
