How to stand for life in a culture of death

You and I live in a sin-sickened society that desperately needs God’s truth. And one of the biggest moral battles we need to fight is saving the lives of precious unborn babies.

The Bible teaches that life is precious from womb to tomb. Yet around 1.5 million babies are aborted every year in the United States. Abortion has been called our national holocaust. An innocent baby is murdered every 21 seconds in this country, after being subjected to cruel and inhumane treatment.

No wonder Proverbs 24:11 says, “Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.”

As Christians, you and I can’t stand by and do nothing about critical moral issues like abortion, when God’s Word calls us to action.

So here are four things you can do to protect unborn babies in this life-and-death battle:

  1. Get informed. Know what the Bible says about abortion. (One way to get informed on important issues like this is through my book, Culture Wise.)
  2. Teach your children about the sacredness of life and sexuality so they embrace morality and purity.
  3. Work and pray for a constitutional amendment that will prohibit abortion. It’s never too late. Let’s keep praying!
  4. Help provide alternatives like Christian pregnancy centers, so vulnerable mothers in crisis receive the encouragement they need to keep their babies or choose the loving option of adoption over abortion.

Most importantly, let’s continue “speaking the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15). That’s the kind of voice God’s Spirit can use to rescue these innocent children, as you and I boldly and lovingly stand for life in a culture of death.

We want to equip you to stand for God’s truth on tough cultural issues like abortion, by sending you Pastor Graham’s book, Culture Wise: Thinking Rightly about Seven Societal Wrongs. Click here to learn how to get your copy!
