How to stay balanced in a chaotic world

The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.

–1 Peter 4:7

I’m often asked, “Pastor, what do you pray for most often for your own life?” And if I think about it, I’d say one of my most common prayers is for balance in life. I pray that God would give me physical, emotional, and spiritual balance through hardship, especially in these uncertain days.

Now, what do I mean by that? Well, look at our world today. There’s so much upheaval in world economics, politics, churches, and the lives of individuals and families. And I know for a fact that there are real spiritual forces at work behind that chaos. But many follow the chaotic winds of change and are swayed back and forth so much that they can’t even discern the truth anymore.

However, in today’s verse, the apostle Peter tells you and me that the key to maintaining focus in days of doubt is to be self-controlled and sober-minded. We can’t let the world sway us; we must remain steady in our faith.

Stay grounded in life by building your well-being on the foundation of Jesus Christ. He’s the only One Who will never move when the world’s winds shift. So trust Him and find your balance!

FIND BALANCE WHEN LIFE GETS CHAOTIC BY MAINTAINING A FIRM FOOTING ON THE FOUNDATION OF CHRIST.
