How to turn the tide in your spiritual battle

And take… the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints…

–Ephesians 6:17-18

I heard about a teenage boy who was struggling in math. So he told his dad one night, “Dad, I think I’m going to fail geometry.”

His dad looked at him and said, “Son, you have to be more positive than that.”

The boy thought for a moment and said, “Okay, I’m positive I’m going to fail geometry!”

There are a lot of self-help gurus and even some Christian leaders today who preach that positive thinking is the answer to our spiritual problems. Now, positive thinking can sometimes help, but just smiling and hoping your problems go away is not the answer because it will not root out the works of the enemy in your life.

You can’t overcome the enemy by just thinking about it – you have to fight the battle. That means going on the offensive with the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, and with prayer.

Protect yourself from the enemy… but don’t stop there. Take up the weapons of warfare. Stay grounded in the Scriptures. Stay close to God in prayer. Take these actions, and you’ll fight back the adversary and turn the tide in the spiritual battle against you!

TURN THE TIDE IN THE SPIRITUAL BATTLE AGAINST YOU BY GETTING GROUNDED IN THE WORD AND BEING PERSISTENT IN PRAYER!
