Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
–John 3:3
I just love the springtime. The flowers are starting to blossom, the trees are budding, and the grass is about to green. But my favorite part of springtime is that baseball season is here. The snap of the leather… the crack of the bat… that’s my favorite part of spring! Of course, the specter of the Major League Baseball lockout looms large, but high school and little league baseball is alive and well here in Texas.
Spring symbolizes new life. And as much as I love baseball, I love even more seeing someone receive new life in Jesus Christ. As we look at what happens when someone steps into a relationship with Jesus, it’s so much more than turning over a new leaf. It’s like being born all over again. It’s absolutely revolutionary!
The new birth we receive in Christ isn’t just a new psychological experience or a different way of thinking. It’s not behavior modification nor a religious awakening. Being born again means you receive the very life of Christ in you.
You can’t receive Christ without being changed. When you’re born again, you’re transformed from the inside out. So as you see trees turning green and flowers blooming this spring, let it be a reminder to you that if you’re in Christ, spring has come into your heart and your new life is blooming each and every day!
LET CHRIST TRANSFORM YOU FROM THE INSIDE OUT THROUGH THE NEW LIFE HE GIVES YOU EVERY DAY.
