I knew a couple several years ago who, from the outside looking in, had a great life. They lived in an affluent area with a very nice home. But they were without Jesus in their lives. And one day, the wife came home and told her husband out of the blue, “I’m leaving you.” He couldn’t understand it, and tried to convince her to stay. But they ended up getting a divorce.
A friend of the husband’s, a Christian, invited the man to go to church one Sunday. He heard the message that God loved him, and died on the cross for his sins so that he could have eternal life. He trusted Christ that Sunday, and was immediately transformed.
He knew he had to at least try to reconcile with his ex-wife. So he contacted her and told her his eyes were opened. She agreed to see him, and he invited her to go to church with him. Eventually, she also received Christ, they reconciled their marriage, and are still together today!
God doesn’t just save us so we can make it through life and go to heaven when we die. He gives us His amazing life-changing power today. Trust in Jesus to not only reconcile you with God, but to transform your life through the Holy Spirit here and now!
