Lifting up your needs to God

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

–Hebrews 13:5

Awhile back, I was listening to the testimony of Dr. James Dobson, the preeminent Christian psychologist. He was talking about how he had a heart attack several years ago. And as he was sitting in the hospital, the doctor told him that it appeared that he was going to get a bad report from one of his tests.

Fear began to creep in. He didn’t even want to tell his wife about the test because there was no need worrying her with it. After they drew his blood for the test, he was in his hospital room all by himself; nobody was there. He remembered, “I was so alone and so afraid. So I just prayed and asked God to help me and to strengthen me.”

He said about an hour or so later, his friend Dr. Jack Hayford walked in the room. And when Dobson saw Jack, he asked him, “What are you doing here? You’re way too busy to come and see me!”

And Jack said, “Well, about an hour or so ago, I was praying for you and the Lord told me you were lonely. So I got in my car and came over here to see you.”

Did you know that we have a God who does those kinds of things? Whether it’s your physical needs as in today’s passage or your emotional or spiritual needs, he promises that he will never leave you or forsake you.

So when you have a need, lift it up to God because he loves to come through for you!

LIFT UP ALL YOUR NEEDS TO GOD BECAUSE HE WILL ALWAYS COME THROUGH FOR YOU!
