I love the story of “Shug” Jordan, who was the football coach at Auburn years ago. He and a recruiter were talking to some young ball players and the recruiter said, “There’s a certain kind of athlete that when you knock him down on the field, he stays down. Well, we don’t want him, do we, Coach?”
And Coach Jordan said, “Nope.”
Then the recruiter said, “But there’s another kind of athlete that when you knock him down, he gets back up. But you knock him down again, he stays down. We don’t him either, do we, Coach?”
Coach Jordan said, “No, we don’t want him either.”
Then he said, “But there’s another athlete that when you knock him down, he gets up. You knock him down again, he gets up again. You knock him down, he gets up! That’s the guy we want, isn’t it, Coach?”
Coach Jordan said, “No, we don’t want him either!”
So the recruiter said, “Well, who on earth do we want?”
Jordan replied, “We want the guy who’s knocking everybody down!”
