Revealing God’s story through your story

I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.

–2 Timothy 1:5

One of the most powerful tools we can use to share Christ with others is our personal testimony of faith. Now, many times, we tend to glamorize testimonies that speak of the person’s debauchery, drug addiction, or drunkenness. We focus so much on the part of the testimony about what life was like before Christ that the Gospel almost becomes an afterthought.

But over the years, I’ve come to realize that some of the greatest and most beautiful testimonies of all are from those who have lived for Christ since childhood. Think about it… would you rather your kids go through times of rebellion in order to find Christ? Or, would you prefer them, like young Timothy in today’s passage, to find Christ early and spend their lives serving Him?

Now, both kinds of testimony are beautiful pictures of God’s grace. Please understand that. But let’s never discount the testimony of a believer who’s been following Christ since childhood because it’s not “radical” or exciting enough.

It’s never too late – or too early – to put your faith in Christ. And the grace that saves the worst of sinners is the same grace that saves everyone else. So whether you’re young or old, let your story become part of God’s redemptive story. Trust Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, watch as His grace transforms your life, and use your story to point others to Him.

TRUST CHRIST FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS AND USE YOUR STORY OF GRACE TO TELL OTHERS OF HIS AMAZING LOVE.
