Remember when you first came to Christ? You were so full of his Spirit. You were excited about your faith. You were thrilled that you were saved and you couldn’t wait to read your Bible. Going to church was the highlight of your week.
So how does your spiritual life compare now? Have you become stunted in your spiritual growth?
Well, if you have, I can tell you how it happened. You started making a series of choices and compromises that moved you away from God rather than causing you to grow closer to him.
You see, every negative shift that you and I experience in our spiritual growth can be traced back to a compromise that we made with the enemy. But somewhere along the way you began a negotiation with the devil that moved you farther and farther away from him.
Or maybe you haven’t compromised yet, but you’re thinking about it. That’s just what happens when you let down your guard… the enemy begins to make slow and steady compromises with you until you’re no longer serving Jesus. But you can stop him!
Don’t negotiate with the enemy! Stay strong. Be bold and trust in God. There’s victory in Jesus, but there’s death apart from him.
Say “no” to every compromise of the enemy and say “yes” to following Jesus Christ!
