“Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth.”
—Proverbs 4:5
Smart homes are everywhere, and we live with all kinds of gadgets and innovations from computers to security systems and the house that does it’s own thing. It’s a smart house.
Where I grew up back in Conway, Arkansas, our house wasn’t all that smart, but our family was pretty wise. I had a grandfather and parents who understood the principles of God’s Word and passed those principles along to our family.
I just have to wonder today as we have so many smart houses, if we have wise families, because more and more we’re struggling. I would have to say that many of our families aren’t smart families or wise families, but the very opposite, what the Bible calls foolish families.
One of my favorite definitions of wisdom is this; wisdom is seeing things from God’s perspective. That is wisdom. And this wisdom is available to us today.
There are 31 chapters in Proverbs and so you can read a chapter a day. You can imagine the wisdom of God that was given to Solomon. That is now given to us, because this is beyond the wisdom of man, this is the wisdom of God.
Just read the book of Proverbs, and you will discover that in it we have the distilled wisdom of Solomon. But more than that, you have the crystallized, clear, HD, high definition wisdom of God.
