If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

You and I don’t have to look far in society to see that we live in spiritually dark and desperate days. Every form of wickedness seems to abound unchecked.
In other words, we need revival!
In the Scripture we see that Israel faced dark days much like our own. Wicked rulers led Israel further and further away from God’s law, his work, and his truth. And the most wicked of all the kings was a man by the name of Ahab. Every form of vileness and violence flourished under his rule, including the sacrifice of babies to pagan gods. Those who loved God cried out for revival.
What’s great is that when God’s people prayed for revival, revival came! God sent the powerful message of revival through a man named Elijah, a man who was passionate about God and about seeing his people return to God.
Today, God wants us to cry out for revival, too. He promises to heal our land if we will humble ourselves before him and turn from our wicked ways. That’s the very definition of revival!
Pray and ask God to bring revival, beginning right now in you. Let him reign in your heart and infuse you with a supernatural love for this generation.
