Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
–Psalm 34:8
I once heard about a young lady who had been blind from birth. Her mother, as she grew up, would always describe to her the beauty of the world around them. She would talk about the sunrise, the sunset, the colors of the flowers, and the beauty of the ocean.
One day, her doctor told her about a new procedure that could enable her to see. So she had the surgery done and came home with bandages on her eyes. After three days, she was able to take off the bandages and look around at the beauty of God’s creation for the very first time.
Sitting with her mother a few days after the bandages had come off, the girl said, “Mom, why didn’t you tell me it was all so beautiful?”
Her mom responded, “Honey, I tried. You just had to see it for yourself.”
As we share the truth about God with others, our invitation isn’t just for them to hear about God. Our invitation, rather, is for them to open their eyes and see God’s goodness for themselves.
Don’t feel discouraged when you feel you’re falling short in talking about God. Just give the simple invitation for others to taste and see Him for themselves!
WORDS WILL ALWAYS FALL SHORT IN DESCRIBING GOD’S GOODNESS. SO INVITE OTHERS TO EXPERIENCE HIS GOODNESS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.
