What happens when you die?

But a man dies and is laid low;

            man breathes his last, and where is he?

–Job 14:10

The book of Job is widely considered to be the oldest book of the Bible. And in it we have this enigmatic question, essentially asking, “What really happens when we die?” Through the ages, that same question has been the source of so much debate among people from all walks of life.

Our world today is filled with myths and misconceptions about life after death. Typically, these are a mixture of what we’re told from others with a pinch of religion stuck in there as well. Even those in the Christian tradition have some different ideas.

But when all is said and done, can we really know the answer to that age-old question? Well, as we read the Scriptures, there are some definite truths that stick out. One of those is that the afterlife is immediate, as our Lord said to the believing thief on the cross, “today you will be with me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43).

Another thing that we find certain in the Bible is that in the afterlife, every person will end up in one of two places, either “eternal punishment” or “eternal life” (Matthew 25:46). Where we will end up is directly dependent on how we respond to Jesus’ message.

The afterlife is very real… and it’s a place we’re all going. Be ready for the life to come by looking to Jesus and trusting in His message of salvation!

MAKE SURE YOU’RE READY FOR THE AFTERLIFE BY FOLLOWING JESUS AND TRUSTING HIS MESSAGE OF SALVATION.
