We’re living in an instant society. People want our food instantly, so they have microwaves, food delivery services, and fast-food restaurants. They want entertainment quickly, so they have on-demand movies and hundreds of television channels streaming to them. They want sex right now, so they have pornography and prostitution.
Finding gratification for fleeting pleasures is so easy today. And you would think that with so many ways to fulfill any desire we have that we’d be happier today than any other time in human history. But you don’t have to look far to realize that’s just not true. The reason for this is while the things of the world may gratify, they’ll never satisfy.
So, what really satisfies? What’s going to give people real peace and joy? Only Jesus Christ. You see, a fulfilling, accepting, and abundant life in Christ is the only way you’ll find joy and contentment in life. The pleasures of this world can never do that.
Instead of looking to worldly things to make you content, look to Jesus. Find your fulfillment, hope, and peace in Him. Trust in Him when the world tells you to trust in it. He’s all you need to live life abundantly and experience the fullness of joy only He can provide!
