For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
–1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
One of the constant issues discussed in churches is the issue of the rapture. If you’re unfamiliar with it, the rapture is an event that many claim will happen when Christ will take all believers to heaven just before a period of severe judgment on the earth.
Now let me show my cards and tell you that I believe this is an actual event that will happen. I have very good friends who think differently. But as we discuss such things, it’s important we don’t miss the big picture: that Christ will return and save those who know Him from the judgment to come.
This should comfort us who know Christ because of the fact that since we’re in Him, we’ll never face one iota of judgment. Our sins are completely washed away. And in His grace, God will save us from the storm to come.
So take comfort. The God who saved you from your sins will most assuredly save you from enduring judgment for those sins. Trust in God’s goodness, keeping your faith squarely in Him, and you’ll find shelter and safety from the judgment to come!
TRUST IN GOD’S GOODNESS, TAKE COMFORT IN HIS FORGIVENESS, AND YOU’LL NEVER ENDURE JUDGMENT FOR SIN!
