Why you’re never without hope as a believer

… According to the foreknowledge of God the Father…

–1 Peter 1:2

There is no worse feeling than the feeling of losing hope. When you and I lose hope, it can be like driving into fog. You wonder where you are going and where you will end up.

This sense of loss of hope can seem like the end of life itself. But do you really know what hope is? Let me tell you. Hope is the confident expectation that God has your future in his hands.

You see, God is the Alpha and Omega. That means that he knows the end of everything from its beginning! When Peter wrote, “According to the foreknowledge of God the Father,” he was saying that God knows everything that has happened and everything that will happen in your life and mine.

So is something threatening to rob your hope? Is your marriage suffering? Has your child strayed from God? Have you gotten bad news from the doctor?

If so, remember that no matter how bad things may seem, God has a plan for your life. And you and I are never, ever without hope!

If a situation is trying to destroy your hope, I want you to know this: As a follower of Christ, you are God’s chosen child. You are not an accident. You are not an afterthought or a mistake.

Thank God this moment that you have been in his heart and mind from the beginning of time, and will be forever. God is planning and preparing for your future with him.

You are never without hope!

NO MATTER HOW BAD THINGS ARE, YOU AND I ARE NEVER, EVER WITHOUT HOPE!
