Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
–Proverbs 13:12
Too many people today… including many believers… live in “Never”-land. I’m sure you’ve met them. They say things like, “My life’s never going to get better,” “My marriage is never going to recover,” or “My career is never going to get back on track.”
People who live in “Never”-land can be so immersed in negativity that it can make them sick. In fact, that’s exactly what today’s Scripture is telling you and me. It’s saying if you lose hope, you can be setting yourself up for sickness.
My friend, are you without hope? Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? A famous cardiologist once said, “Hope is the medicine I use more than any other. Hope can cure nearly anything.”
Has something robbed you of your hope? If so, I want you to take hold of Colossians 1:27, which says “… Christ in you, the hope of glory.” This Scripture means that you can live with hope because Christ indwells in you.
So today, welcome this hope into your life.
And remember… the same God who holds the future is holding your hand. When you have his promise, you have his hope!
ARE YOU LIVING WITH THE POWER AND HOPE OF THE RESURRECTION IN YOUR LIFE?
