Why Do We Really Pray?

Sometimes I encounter Christians who ask me, “Pastor, why should I pray? God already knows what He’s going to do, so doesn’t He already have the answer?” Well, I tell them that it’s in prayer that you discover what God wants to do. It’s in prayer that you determine God’s wisdom, God’s way, God’s plan, and God’s desires. It’s in prayer that you make yourself available to God.

Choosing to be Fearless: Day 2, Praying

I miss seeing my grandchildren. There are no hugs, jumping in my lap or kisses. So we face time. Last evening, we talked to our daughter’s three children. It was chaotic; they were jumping, and screaming. Jack tried to get control by asking them about the scripture for the week. That only lasted a minute. Then Lauren, the 3 year old wanted to sing. She became focused and stared right into the phone and belted out, “It’s me oh Lord, it’s me oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer.”
