The great military hero General Douglas MacArthur once said, “There is no security on this earth; there is only opportunity. Empty your days of the search of security and fill them with a passion for service.”
I read a while ago a statistic that said 47 percent of the people who live in the state of Texas attend church regularly. That’s nearly half of an entire state! Somebody said there are more churchgoers in Texas than people! Yet, that statistic saddens me because despite having so many who claim to be Christians in the area in which I live, our faith has very little influence on our population.
I heard about a young lad who was out farming one afternoon. He looked up and thought he saw a vision that formed in the clouds. It said “P.C.”. So he said, “Praise, God! That must mean ‘preach Christ.’” So at that moment, he left his plow, left the farm, and he went out and preached his very first sermon.
As a servant of Jesus Christ, you have a purpose for living. And you can make a difference in your community, church, and world… especially when you work in partnership with others.
